Mandatory Pre-Dyno ChecklistTo ensure a successful session and avoid additional labor fees or rescheduling, deposit forfeit, please verify the following before your appointment:
- Fluid Levels & Leaks: Ensure oil, coolant, and transmission fluids are topped off. The vehicle must be free of significant leaks; excessive fluid spills on the dyno may result in a cleanup fee.
- Spark Plugs: Install fresh plugs gapped for your specific application.
- Note: For individual cylinder tuning, please bring 6–8 extra sets.
- Fuel Requirements: Arrive with at least a half tank of the specific fuel (octane/E85) you intend to tune for.
- Tires & Driveline: Inspect tires for adequate tread and proper inflation (recommended 30–40 psi). Check driveshaft bolts, U-joints, and CV axles for security.
- Electrical System: Ensure your battery is healthy and the charging system maintains 13.5–14V. Poor grounds and weak batteries are a leading cause of tuning issues, and ECU failures.
- Mechanical Readiness: Verify the cooling system is fully bled. If forced induction, perform a boost leak test to ensure all couplers and vacuum lines are secure, retorque clamps.

Ryan with KC Maxx Performance specializes in LS and Gen V LT platforms using the factory GM controllers using HP Tuners as well as aftermarket offerings such as Holley, Fueltech, Haltech, MaxxECU to name a few.
Non AWD applications will be tuned on a Dynojet 248C in ground dynamometer with a power graph print out.

Frequently Asked Questions
We do not offer diesel tuning. Only Gas, Ethanol, Race Gas, Methanol, and Nitro mixes.

Most applications are completed in under 2 hours, you are more than welcome to observe the vehicle from outside of the dyno bay and from our lobby that has a live screen for the dyno and your vehicle on camera.

We do not offer tuning on the weekends. We race and enjoy this sport the same as you do. Drop off and pick up arrangements can be made to get your project ready for your next weekend, event, or special dinner date.

Yes we can! Each situation is different and an estimate will be provided for approval to get your vehicle ready for tuning. If you have any concerns, please contact us about getting your vehicle ready before scheduling for the tune.
Yes, we can dyno vehicles with selectable 2WD/4WD. If your vehicle doesn’t allow power to be removed from the front axle, we can still provide a high-quality street tune for road-ready vehicles.
Yes, we can provide remote tuning services for customers located outside our immediate area. Contact us for more information on remote tuning options.
Tuning results are not guaranteed due to aftermarket part variances and build quality. Retunes are available for all vehicles for 6 months after original full tune date. Rates are reduced to a starting rate of $300. Please Contact Us with any questions. Factory repairs carry a 12-month, 12,000 mile warranty on parts supplied and installed by KC Maxx Automotive.
